Why We Started This Service
From Students, For Students & Families
Every year during Chhath Mahaparv, thousands of students, scholars, and working professionals from Bihar residing in Vadodara and across Gujarat face an overwhelming challenge: train tickets are booked solid months in advance with waiting lists exceeding 400.
Private bus operators and middlemen often exploit this desperation by charging astronomical fares (₹8,000–₹10,000) for uncomfortable journeys with zero accountability. For many students living far from home, this meant missing the most auspicious festival of the year with their families and mothers observing the sacred 36-hour Nirjala Vrat.
To solve this problem with transparency and dignity, a group of dedicated students and youth coordinators established this independent, community-coordinated Chhath Puja Bus Initiative.
